Collision Industry Relief Effort Up and Running

The Collision Industry Relief Effort has been operating for one year, marking the Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. We have helped more than 125 Technicians in the Collision Repair Industry to get tools to go back to work.

In addition, we have also received very generous cash donations to raise money specifically for the effort.

It has been most gratifying watching as hundreds of individuals came together to donate their time and money to make this suggestion a reality. In less than one month, the NABC and CIF, with the help of ASA, SCRS and AASP, and several key industry people came together to make sure the resources would be in place for this effort. It speaks volumes about the true nature and quality of the people in our industry.

Our 6 Relocation Specialists have been working with those families who have asked for our assistance.

To date (August 28th, 2006) our organization has helped more than 125 families with tools and/or housing needs. We have helped some individuals find employment within the affected areas as well as out. Many of the individuals are still trying to gain perspective with regards to their homes, and whether or not they will still be able to live in the area they were from.

As we wrap up the efforts to assist those affected by Hurricane Katrina, our efforts will be focused on the future, and any disaster that may occur will be responded to with understanding and timeliness.

NOTE: The Collision Industry Relief has discontinued relief as of September 1st, 2006 for Hurricanes Katrina, Wilma and Rita
